HUBUNGAN MEKANISME KOPING DENGAN KECEMASAN MAHASISWA KEPERAWATAN TINGKAT III STIKES PANTI KOSALA DALAM MENGHADAPI PRAKTIK KLINIK

Abstract
Latar belakang: perasaan cemas dapat menyerang siapa saja, terutama mahasiswa keperawatan yang sedang melakukan praktik klinik. Mahasiswa keperawatan dituntut untuk dapat memahami, mendalami, dan mempraktikkan ilmu yang telah dipelajari selama perkuliahan di kampus. Semakin tinggi tingkat kecemasan, maka perlu adanya mekanisme koping untuk mengatasi kecemasan yang terjadi. Ketika mahasiswa mengalami kecemasan, maka individu akan menggunakan berbagai mekanisme koping untuk mengatasi rasa cemas. Apabila individu tidak mampu mengatasi kecemasan secara konstruktif, maka dapat menjadi penyebab terjadinya perilaku yang patologis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan mekanisme koping dengan kecemasan mahasiswa keperawatan tingkat III STIKES PANTI KOSALA dalam menghadapi praktik klinik. Subyek dan metode: metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan cross sectional. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji chi square dengan nilai signifikan ?<0,05. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa tingkat III semester VI Prodi DIII Keperawatan STIKES PANTI KOSALA tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan sampel sebanyak 56 orang diambil menggunakan teknik total populasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 6 responden (10,7%) mengalami kecemasan berat, 5 responden (8,9%) mengalami kecemasan ringan dan sedang. Mayoritas responden menggunakan mekanisme koping maladaptif sebanyak 38 mahasiswa (67,9%). Mahasiswa yang menggunakan koping maladaptif, memiliki tingkat kecemasan normal lebih banyak yaitu 68,4% dibandingkan mahasiswa yang menggunakan koping adaptif sebesar 61,1%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara mekanisme koping dengan kecemasan Mahasiswa Keperawatan Tingkat III STIKES PANTI KOSALA dalam Menghadapi Praktik Klinik (? = 0,695).

Background: anxiety can attack anyone, especially nursing students who are doing clinical practice. Nursing students are required to be able to understand, explore, and practice the knowledge they have learned during lectures on campus. The higher the level of anxiety, the greater the need for a coping mechanism to overcome the anxiety that occurs. When students experience anxiety, they will use various coping mechanisms to overcome it. If the individual is not able to overcome anxiety constructively, then it can be a cause of pathological behavior. The aims of this study was to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and anxiety in Diploma of Nursing Students in Clinical Practice at STIKES PANTI KOSALA. Subject and method: the method used is descriptive-quantitative and cross-sectional. The statistical test used is the chi-square test, with a significant value of 0.05. The research subjects were Diploma of Nursing students in semester VI at STIKES PANTI KOSALA for 2022–2023, with as many as 56 people taken using the total population technique. The results showed that 6 respondents (10.7%) experienced severe anxiety, and 5 respondents (8.9%) experienced mild and moderate anxiety. The majority of respondents used maladaptive coping mechanisms, including as many as 38 students (67.9%). Students who use maladaptive coping have more normal anxiety levels, namely 68.4%, compared to students who use adaptive coping, which is 61.1%. The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant relationship between coping mechanisms and the anxiety of Diploma of Nursing students in semester VI at STIKES PANTI KOSALA in Facing Clinical Practice (? = 0.695).
