Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is one of the main risk factors for stunting in children. CED is characterized by insufficient energy and protein intake over a long period of time, which impacts fetal growth and maternal health. Stunting is a condition of growth failure in toddlers due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life. This community service aims to increase public understanding of the pregnant women's health with CED and toddlers with stunting through direct assistance in providing supplementary feeding. The methods used in the community service activities are lectures and discussion. The lecture method aims to provide knowledge about the importance of the pregnant women's health with CED and toddlers with stunting. The discussion method aims to provide opportunities for the participants to discussed if there are still things they do not understand about the material presented. The results of this service increase the knowledge of pregnant women and their families about the pregnant women's health with CED and toddlers with stunting. In the data from the SumberJeruk area in 2025 were found 30 pregnant women in Sumberjeruk Village, with 6 pregnant women had KEK, and among Total 132 Toddlers, there were 14 toddlers with stunting. After conducting counseling and assistance in providing additional food to pregnant women and toddlers, the number of toddlers with weight gain were 10 toddlers, toddlers with decreased weight were 2 toddlers and the remained weight was 1 toddler. The number of pregnant women with  weight gain were 4 pregnant women, with decreased weight was 1 pregnant woman, and with remained weight was 1 pregnant woman. These results indicate that interventions through educational approaches and direct provision of supplementary foods have a positive impact on the nutritional status of both pregnant women and toddlers. This approach has also succeeded in raising public awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition in preventing CED and stunting.
